JAMES SCHILLING

James Schilling (he/him) is a London-based actor, educator, playwright, and musician originally from Seattle, Washington. He is passionate about new, immersive, interactive, and devised work, collaborative storytelling, disruption of theatrical conventions, tabletop roleplaying, and making theatre for & with underserved communities (especially people who are incarcerated).

In London, James co-wrote and performed in A Song for the Vanished for the 2026 London Lovecraft Festival at the Drayton Arms Theatre. James co-produced
14/48 London: The World's Quickest Theatre Festival in Spring 2026 at The Cockpit and is on the producing committee for 14/48 London. He co-created and performs in Superlatives Live: An Interactive TTRPG which premieres at Voidspace Live 2026 at Theatre Deli in June 2026. He has also worked with 14/48 UK and Union Theatre.

In Seattle, he has worked with Village Theatre, The 5th Avenue Theatre, ACT Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Taproot Theatre, ArtsWest, Freehold Theatre, The 14/48 Projects, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Dacha Theatre, and others.

 

James works as a Teaching Artist independently and has taught with Seattle Children's Theatre and Village Theatre KIDSTAGE; he specializes in teaching improv, acting, clown, devising, tabletop roleplaying, and social emotional wellness through theatre and in working with youth who are incarcerated. James is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts with a B.F.A in Theatre - Original Works and is proud to be a member of the Creative Collective of Lucky Panda Presents and a company member of Dacha Theatre.
